About Our Ministry

About Our Ministry

And the things that thou hast heard of me, the same commit
them to faithful men, who shall be able to teach others also.
 II Timothy 2:3

Hello!

We are Fredrick and Antoinette Kearney. We are independent Baptist missionary church planters, serving with our family, in Tema, Ghana, West Africa. We are sent out by Faith Independent Baptist Church, in Glenn Dale, Maryland. Our pastor is Pat Creed Jr.. Through the faithful prayers and generous giving of our committed supporting churches, friends and family members, the Lord has made it possible for us to plant Lighthouse Baptist Church in the Ashiaman, Newtown community of Tema and recently started another church in the northern region in the town of Walewale. The Lord has made it possible, through the power of His word, for us to make disciples who are making disciples.

The children whom we led to the Lord and discipled ten years ago are now the faithful, committed and dedicated young adults who serve in the church. They preach, teach, soul win, disciple and lead all the work of the ministry. We have the wonderful privilege to mentor them as we see God do great things in and through their lives. We are presently looking at areas where these young men will be able to begin Bible studies that will lead to future church plants. Our ministry involves, soul winning, discipleship, Sunday School, Faith Bible Institute, Bible club, bus ministry, adult and children literacy and discipleship program, orchestra, medical outreach, school chapel outreach, Men & Woman fellowship, True sons and True Daughters, Library Project, Sewing Project, and Instrument repairs services.

We are blessed to have two of our sons in bible college and are preparing to be laborers for His harvest.

Music Ministry

Music Ministry - we teach music to the young people using recorders to begin with, but some of the students start out with instruments on hand that have been donated or purchased.

Lighthouse Baptist Church Orchestra - woodwind, brass, string & percussions instruments.

Literacy Program

The adult literacy level is 60‰. 40% of the population gets a secondary education and only 5% of the adult population get a tertiary education. We started a literacy program that is teaching the youth and adults how to read and comprehend the country's second language, English. So far about 10 percent of the students have completed the program and have also been trained to teach, and lead Sunday school and Bible Club. We started with 6 students and we now have 38 students. We believe that every reader is a future Sunday school teacher.

Medical Outreach

Our Medical outreach has proven to be a means of reaching our people with the Gospel. Through this outreach we've seen families attend church to hear the Gospel and some join the church. I've perform tooth extraction, minor surgeries, check vital signs and administer medicine to the sick.

You Can Make A Difference

We need people who will partner with us by prayer, by finances and by joining us in this uttermost part of the earth. Who will help us make a difference as we plant churches and evangelize the lost in Ghana? You can take missions trips to teach VBS, provide medical and dental outreaches, teach Bible Institute, train literacy program teachers, provide KJV Study Bibles and Sunday school materials. We look forward to the Acree family coming to help us in the church planting efforts as they also use their gifts and talents to minister in the music, youth and puppet ministry. Will you ask God how He would have you to partner with the US as we endeavor to make a difference working in the field of Ghana.
"And the things that thou hast heard of me, the same commit them to faithful men, who shall be able to teach others also."
